Pharmaceuticals

Promoting pharmaceutical companies and products within the rules: what may be said, and how to reach patients, doctors and pharmacy chains.

How we work in pharma

Advertising is only part of it. Content and work with the professional audience carry more weight, and they do not depend on ad moderation.

Content for patients

Material organised by symptom and condition, grounded in the approved leaflet. It reaches people long before they choose a product.

ContentSymptomsSEO

Material for professionals

Study data, composition and mechanism of action in a form a clinician can use, not in the form of a banner.

ProfessionalsEvidence

Advertising OTC products

Campaigns built around mandatory warnings and the limits set by the leaflet. Wording is agreed before launch.

Google AdsModeration

Company brand

Promoting the manufacturer where the product itself cannot be advertised: reputation, mentions, values.

Work with pharmacy chains

Sustaining the demand that drives purchasing decisions, plus material for the chains themselves.

Our clients’ results

We build long-term partnerships — and the numbers speak for themselves: our average client relationship lasts 5 years, and our partners' financial results grow quarter after quarter.

How we work

We do not propose workarounds and we do not write claims absent from the leaflet. In this sector that is not caution but a condition of working at all.

Only what the leaflet supports

Every claim about a product's action has backing in the official document. Anything else is grounds for removal.

Material checked by a specialist

Health content is not published without review by someone with the relevant qualification.

Restrictions explained before the contract

You know what is and is not possible before we start, rather than after the first campaign is pulled.

Request a consultation or audit

Tell us about your task and we will suggest a solution and show how it adds up in numbers. The consultation is free, with no obligations.

Why the agency needs to know the rules

A mistake in pharma costs not money but the channel: after a few removed ads the account is suspended, and recovering it is harder than avoiding the breach. We agree wording before submission and never propose workarounds.

01

Wording agreed in advance

Before anything is submitted you see exactly what the ad will say and why it is permissible.

02

Weight on channels outside moderation

Content and search traffic do not depend on ad account decisions and do not vanish with a campaign.

03

Experience in the sector

The agency has worked with Materia Medica products and knows where the permitted ends.

How we start

The first stage is legal rather than creative. It determines what can be done at all.

01

Reviewing the restrictions

We check the product status, the leaflet and which claims are permissible. The output is a list of approved wordings.

02

Audiences and scenarios

The work is split between patient, professional and chain, each with its own channel and format.

03

Content and campaigns

We prepare material and ads within what is permitted, agreeing the wording before submitting to moderation.

04

Measurement

Analytics is set up allowing for the fact that part of the patient journey ends offline in a pharmacy.

Frequently asked questions about pharmaceutical marketing

The questions that come up most often at a first meeting.

01

Can a prescription medicine be advertised?

Not to consumers. What remains is work with professionals, content and promotion of the manufacturer's brand. That is not a way around the ban but a different set of instruments.

02

Why are ads removed without explanation?

Moderation in ad systems is automated and reacts to wording. The commonest causes are a promised treatment outcome or a comparison with other products.

03

Can patient testimonials be used?

Testimonials about recovery, no. A comment on the convenience of the format or the taste is usually acceptable, but we check each case separately.

04

How long until results?

Content work takes effect from three or four months; advertising is faster but limited by the rules. Planning in pharma is usually annual because of seasonality.

05

Do you work with distributors and pharmacies?

Yes, on demand support and materials. Commercial negotiation with the chains belongs to your sales department.

06

Who checks the copy?

Wording about a product's action is agreed with your medical or regulatory affairs team. We do not assume responsibility that belongs to the manufacturer.

07

Can you help if the account is suspended?

We can try: analyse the cause and prepare an appeal. But nobody can guarantee reinstatement, which is why avoiding it is cheaper.

08

Does a product need its own website?

Often yes: a product brand site gathers symptom-driven traffic better than a section on the manufacturer's corporate site. The decision depends on the portfolio.

Marketing for pharmaceutical companies

Pharmaceutical marketing: advertising under restrictions

Promoting medicines differs from every other sector in that most familiar techniques are simply not allowed. You cannot promise a cure, compare against named competitor products, or use people in white coats as proof of efficacy. Google and Meta moderation removes ads without explanation, and repeat violations lead to account suspension. So the work begins not with creatives but with establishing what may legally be said at all.

Prescription and over-the-counter: different rules

Advertising prescription medicines to consumers is prohibited in Ukraine. What remains is work with the medical community, material written for professionals and indirect promotion of the company brand. Over-the-counter products may be advertised, but with mandatory warnings and without claims that go beyond the patient information leaflet.

Three different audiences

  • The patient searches for a symptom, not a product name. They arrive asking «what should I do if…», and whoever answers clearly wins.
  • The doctor checks the evidence. Study data and professional material work here; advertising promises do not.
  • The pharmacy chain makes purchasing decisions on turnover, which is driven by the demand you created among the first two.

What usually gets a medicine ad rejected

WordingWhy it is removed
«cures a cold in three days»promises a treatment outcome
«better than the alternatives»unsubstantiated comparison with competitors
«recommended by doctors»use of professional authority in advertising
a patient testimonial about recoverya claim of therapeutic effect

Where pharma wins

In content. Someone with a symptom looks for an explanation long before choosing a product, and that is where trust in a brand is formed. Material grounded in the approved leaflet and checked by a specialist works for years and does not depend on ad account moderation.

When we say no

When the task is to circumvent the restrictions rather than work within them. An ad that slips past moderation by a trick is removed within a week, and the account suffers far longer. That saving costs you the channel.

Our experience in the sector

The agency has worked with Materia Medica and its products — Tenoten, Anaferon, Ergoferon. Cases with the tasks described are collected in the portfolio.
