IKLA Esports Team
IKLA is an esports team that needed its own website as a full-fledged fan hub: with a live tournament calendar, news feed, player profiles, and a merch store. Off-the-shelf templates were not an option, as esports demands speed, dynamic content, and visuals that match the team's competitive level.
Task
Design and develop a turnkey esports team website on WordPress with a WooCommerce merch store, tournament calendar integration, and dedicated sections for news, roster, and careers. Deliver a custom architecture with no reliance on third-party page builders or heavy plugins.
What was done
- Created UX prototypes for all key pages based on fan audience behavior scenarios.
- Designed a custom esports-styled visual identity with full mobile responsiveness.
- Built a custom WordPress theme from scratch using dedicated custom post types for tournaments, players, and news.
- Integrated WooCommerce for the merch store with custom checkout and cart hooks.
- Developed a dynamic tournament calendar with discipline filtering and automatic status updates.
